Tamra Peters
Since shortly after the first Earthday in 1970, Tamra has been working to protect the Earth. She has been on the staff of many international, national and local environmental organizations and currently serves on the Board of Sustainable Marin.
Tamra is also Director of the Resilient Neighborhoods Program that is helping people do something about climate change. The pilot program’s goal is to have 100 households in Marin reduce their collective carbon footprint by 500,000 pounds by the end of the year. Then the program will be spread throughout Marin.
At Unity, Tamra and her husband Bill Carney, launched the Ecos Circle in 2005. For almost six years they have been teaching a monthly class and leading an outing in nature to explore the Story of Our Universe, which is our story. Ecos was inspired by the book The Universe Story created by Thomas Berry and Brian Swimme.
