Poetry As Spiritual Practice

Facilitated by: Louise Yahnian
Description: Poetry can nurture us and be healing medicine for our soul. It can draw us into the very essence of life and can be found in everything and everywhere, if we but look with “new eyes.” We all have the poet’s voice within us. The question is: are we giving expression to it? Come and join us as we light the fire of words that are waiting to come into expression through us. We will read poems and, also, write our own poetry. You will be in a safe and supportive environment as we build community together.
No previous poetry writing skills required. All are welcome, including those who have the notion that they do not know how to write poetry.
We meet in Unity Hall. You may choose to go outside in the courtyard or the meditation garden for your writing time. In that case, bring water and sun hat.
Materials: Pen and notebook.
Dates: Tuesday July 17 & 24
Time: 1:15 pm - 3: 15pm
Location: Unity Hall
Suggested Love Offering: $20 for both sessions, or $10 per session. No one turned away due to shortage of funds.
