The Widows Mighty Gifts! - Sunday November 12th, 2017
This Sundays talk has taken an evolutionary turn ... Read More for me… The title of the talk is “The Widows Mighty Gifts!”
As I was researching this talk, I came across a talk Charles Fillmore gave on October 18, 1931 titled “Prosperity.” He gave this talk almost two years to the day after the stock market crash October 24, 1929.
I was so taken with this talk, that I have decided to share his talk with you this coming Sunday. Of course, I will add my own commentary. I think you will be amazed at how forward thinking Charles Fillmore was! He surely was a Prosperity teacher for the ages!

Giving Up, Giving In, or Giving? - Sunday November 5th, 2017
I have been thinking a lot about the concept of ... Read More giving lately. I pondered what it means to GIVE UP? GIVE IN? or just to GIVE?
I can see these concepts from a consciousness of lack and limitation or I can see them from a consciousness of abundance. Charles Fillmore had some insights here!
What is the greatest happiness that man has? Why it is through giving. You will admit that your greatest happiness comes through giving instead of getting. - Charles Fillmore 1931
I invite you to join me as we explore this topic together!

Fall Festival- Boondock Saints - Sunday October 29th, 2017
Saints are ordinary people who do what they do for ... Read More the love of one another. Saints say what they must say without fear, love their neighbors even when they are cursed by them, and live without regret over yesterday or fear of tomorrow. Saints lend a hand to strangers despite differences of religion, gender, race and class. Please join us this Sunday at Unity In Marin’s Fall Festival, as we explore the saints that have gone before us, the saints that are among us today, and our youngest saints that are yet to come. Here on the Sunday before All Hallows Eve, a time when we remember the saints who have gone before us, it is important to remember that each of us is capable of sainthood – I want to believe that is truly who we are.
Many Blessings,

Placebo Effect- Proof You are the Placebo - Sunday October 22nd, 2017
This Sunday my Talk is titled: Proof You Are the ... Read More Placebo!
The ideas that Dr Joe outlines in his book can be summed up by saying “Making you mind matter!” The scientific explanations behind what happens when we change our mind can really help educate us how changing our mind changes our life experience and our physiology. I love this book because it shows the science behind what spiritual masters have been teaching. My favorite healers are P.P. Quimby, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. What they had to say is confirmed by todays science. So does our journey with this book end here? Come on Sunday and find out.

Placebo Effect- The Quantum Mind - Sunday October 15th, 2017
This week I will be talking about -The Quantum ... Read More Mind.
Dr. Joe Dispenza says “ The quantum model, which states that all possibilities exist in this present moment, is your key to using the placebo effect for healing, because it gives you permission to choose a new future for yourself and actually observe it into reality. You will then understand just how possible it really is to cross the river of change and make the unknown known.”
He also recounts several stories of people who have reported remarkable results from using his techniques for the better.
Come join me as we explore the quantum mind.

The previous two talks are about how the placebo ... Read More effect works in the brain and the body. This week ties the last two talks together, explaining, “How Thoughts Change the Brain and the Body.”
“If your environment changes and you then signal new genes in new ways, is it possible to signal the new gene, ahead of the changing of the actual environment?”
Dr. Joe talks about the impact of mental rehearsal on the brain and body. This doesn't just have an impact on our bodies but in our lives. He recounts several stories of people from different walks of life who have used this technique. I personally love the story about Jim Carey!

The Placebo Effect in the Body - Sunday September 24th, 2017
This week’s topic is “The Placebo Effect in the ... Read More Body.”
We have been told for decades to believe in Genetic Determinism. The concept being, that if we inherited genes for cancer, heart disease, etc.. we have no control over it…. We assume we are victims of our biology and that our genes have the ultimate power over our health and wellness.
Dr Joe explains that these are dated beliefs, built on yesterdays news! Not everyone who inherits genes for Alzheimer’s or breast cancer end up getting these diseases. Genes are not eggs that will eventually hatch! Having the gene is not as important as what we are doing that may signal genes to turn on or off!

This week we continue with our book study of the ... Read More book The Placebo Effect. The title of this weeks talk is
“The Placebo Effect in the Brain”
For decades we have believed and espoused that our thoughts are powerful. We believe that they have an enormous effect on our mental and physical health. This week we explore the effect of having the same thoughts over and over vs changing our thoughts and the effect they have on our physiology.
No one ever changes a situation until he gets changed himself. Every outside situation is a reflection of an internal condition.

The Placebo Effect – Dr. Joe Diepenza
Making Minds Matter
This is a book that I would have liked to have written! I have always been fascinated about the Placebo effect. The effect is proof positive of the effects that we have on our bodies by the thoughts that we hold in our minds. The authors personal experience gives him instant credibility and the back up with the medical evidence is truly impressive and compelling. Skeptic or believer there is something here for us all. I look forward to sharing this healing resource with you all.

The Ultimate Fish Story - Sunday August 27th, 2017
We continue the series on Metaphysical Bible ... Read More interpretation with “The Ultimate Fish Story!” I am referring to the story of Jonah. This is a timeless story when seen through the metaphysical lens.
If you have ever felt like not forgiving someone else and burning with that feeling and or if you felt like you were drowning when facing a challenge then you have some insight into Jonah’s plight.
This story is actually a turning point in the Bible from a vengeful God to a God who is here for us all who has compassion and love for all.
I look forward to sharing this story with you on Sunday.

TILT- Sand vs. Rocks - Sunday August 20th, 2017
Everyone therefore who hears a spiritual calling ... Read More and does it, is like a wise person, who built a house on a rock. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn't fall, for it was founded on the rock of Love. But everyone who hears spiritual words and doesn't do them is like a foolish person who built a house on the sand. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall. Matthew 7:24–27,
This week’s bible parable of the Wise and Foolish Builders emphasizes the need to put our spiritual teachings into practice, and speaks to us of two very different sorts of people whose hearts are revealed in their actions. Metaphorically, the rain, winds and flood represent the calamities and afflictions that befall us all. But our souls do not give way if we are founded on the solid rock of Love. Yet, there are those of us whose lives are absorbed by anger and hatred and don’t know, or practice, Love. This Sunday’s Parable teaches us that souls filled with hatred cannot stand, for lives built on the ever shifting sands of perceived injustice will surely topple. The spiritual life of Divine ideas is stronger than any rock; for those of us who keep to Love, even though the waves of the whole world seem to be beating against us, when nations and princes, both our own people and strangers, and every engine is set in motion against us, we stand firmer than a rock, and disperse it all.

Raising the Dead! - Sunday August 13th, 2017
This weeks talk title is - Raising The Dead!
In ... Read More the Bible there are many accounts of people being raised from the dead. Not just by Jesus, but by other prophets as well as the disciples. These are not the only stories of resurrection. The ancient Greeks had stories about the resurrection as well. In the book Autobiography of a Yogi, Yogananda recounts a story of Lahiri Mahasaya and how he raised a boy from the dead.
On the surface these stories seem fantastical. Yet there are people we know of in our lifetime that were clinically dead who returned and are among us.
Metaphysically, what does it mean to be raised from the dead? I invite you to come explore this topic with me on Sunday.

A Dog’s Purpose - Sunday July 23rd, 2017
This Sunday Rev. Pat Palmer will share ideas ... Read More stimulated by the film “A Dog’s Purpose.” We will see our hero Bailey being born again and again, each time as a different kind of dog, as he tries to find the purpose in life. Is it to have fun? To serve those we love? To eat and sleep and sniff??
This film has lots of humor - AND jealousy, bravery, discouragement, glee, love, fear, bravery…in other words, the very things of which life seems to be made. Bailey's connections with the people he loves and their journeys are the stuff of our lives too, and lead us to ask ourselves the same challenging questions.

Finding Dory - Sunday July 16th, 2017

Having made friends with Marlin and Nemo, she was content to live with them until one day a vague memory stirs in her mind. The memory was clear and sufficient enough to convince Dory that she could find her way back.
Dory’s story is much like our own. We get separated from our True Self but the kernel of truth never leaves us. Implanted upon our very soul it is awakened in moment of remembrance. We are surrounded by the exact right and perfect people, conditions, and “markers” that enable us to find our way back home.

Les Miserables - Sunday July 9th, 2017
Les Miserables, is Victor Hugo’s epic tale showing ... Read More what happens when people live with, and without, love and forgiveness. Jean Valjean, hardened and embittered after serving ten years of forced labor for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his family, learns love and compassion for others, while Inspector Javert adheres only to the ‘letter of the law’ and makes no allowance for human needs beyond the law. Set against the back drop of the French Revolution (1789 – 1799), the question we must ask ourselves is whether or not the story is still relevant today? As clouds of darkness roll across our beloved nation, is it possible to live without love and forgiveness? Can we make allowances for human needs beyond the letter of the law and – if so – HOW? We are people who live, cry, laugh, and love in the LIGHT – please join us on Sunday, July 9 to discover how we go on from here.

Displaying Courage in Uncertain Times - Sunday June 11th, 2017
- Displaying Courage in Uncertain Times -
It seems ... Read More wherever I have turned during the election last year as well as what people are experiencing right now, is a palpable sense of heightened anxiety and fear. I have had these feelings myself.
When we get to a place of high anxiety and fear it can be an endless mental loop of analysis paralysis. This of course, has a detrimental effect on our inner and outer reality. What direction we take during these times will be based, like it always is, on our consciousness and our faith.
As a community, I believe that Unity In Marin is at a crossroads. It's a time of enormous opportunity but also a time of great potential change. I look forward to sharing more with you on Sunday.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. - Nelson Mandela
