Separated from her parents as a child, Dory’s short-term memory loss affects her ability to find her way home. Easily distracted, she gets sidetracked and forgets where she lives. Having made friends with Marlin and Nemo, she was content to live with them until one day a vague memory stirs in her mind. The memory was clear and sufficient enough to convince Dory that she could find her way back.
Dory’s story is much like our own. We get separated from our True Self but the kernel of truth never leaves us. Implanted upon our very soul it is awakened in moment of remembrance. We are surrounded by the exact right and perfect people, conditions, and “markers” that enable us to find our way back home.
